To preserve, protect, and restore the land, water, air, wildlife, unique features, and quality of life in the Texas Hill Country against the aggressive and insufficiently regulated expansion of the aggregate industry.
Current projects include educating communities on preservation of natural resources; developing and supporting legislation and common-sense regulations to protect the air, water, and other environmental assets of the Texas Hill Country; and conducting research into the risks and hazards of limestone quarries, gravel mines, concrete batch plants, and other aggregate operations. Our current focus is fighting the proposed 1500-acre Vulcan quarry between Bulverde and New Braunfels.
Preserve Our Hill Country Environment is a nonprofit social advocacy organization established in Comal County, Texas, in 2018. Our 501(c)4 status is pending. PHCE is an all-volunteer group of neighbors joining together to protect our families and the beautiful Texas Hill Country. While financial contributions are not tax-deductible, we are dependent on and grateful for donations—large and small.
